🍴Introduction: When the kitchen loses its appeal or my husband’s smoker is taking a break, we turn to our desert’s diverse dining scene for culinary comfort. Join us as we introduce you to the restaurants we can’t resist.😊

🥪 LUNCH at Sherman’s Deli (Palm Desert)

Must-Try: Pastrami Sandwiches, Stacker Sandwich (it’s huge), Sliced Corned Beef with Eggs, and the best diet Pepsi in the valley. LOL

Favorite Highlights: Portions are huge, an Amazing Bakery, and it was featured twice on “Triple D” (Diners Drive-ins and Dives).

Sherman’s Deli holds a special place in our hearts. The pastrami sandwiches are simply irresistible, and their famous pickles add the perfect touch to any meal. If you’re in the mood for classic deli fare, this is the place to be.

Fun Fact: We named our Maltipoo “Sherman” in honor of this iconic deli. #ShermanTheMaltipoo

🌮 MEXICAN at Don Diego’s (Indian Wells)

Must-Try: Mole Enchiladas, Chile Relleno Tia Maria, Don Diego’s Steak Tacos, Cadillac Margarita (small= medium, medium =large, large is a fishbowl).

Favorite Highlights: Great Service, Kid-Friendly Atmosphere, Outdoor Seating with live music and fountain ambiance.

Don Diego’s is a family favorite for many reasons. The margaritas are top-notch, the service is always impeccable, and our kids adore the Shirley Temples. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxed Mexican meal with loved ones. 

🍕 PIZZA at Piero’s (Palm Desert)

Must-Try: Prosciutto Arugula Pizza and Chicken Salad, Italian Aperol Spritz.

Favorite Highlights: Convenience, Located across the street from our office on El Paseo. Cozy Italian Environment, outdoor seating on El Paseo, the most exciting street in the desert.

Piero’s is our go-to for pizza, and the chicken salad is a personal lunchtime favorite. Its convenient location next to my office makes it a frequent choice, and I can’t resist sipping on an Aperol spritz on a date night.

🍹 HAPPY HOUR at Tommy Bahama’s (Palm Desert)

Must-Try: Coconut Shrimp, Grilled Artichoke, Chicken Mango Salad, Mahi-Mahi Tacos with plantains, Dirty Hendricks Martini.

Favorite Highlights: Location, Top floor with stunning views of El Paseo and Chocolate Mountains.

For a great happy hour experience with a view, Tommy Bahama’s is a must-visit. The atmosphere is lively, and it’s a perfect spot to unwind.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 FAMILY NIGHT at Tuscano’s (La Quinta)

Must-Try: Stacy Salad with Chopped Chicken Parmesan, The SoCal Pizza, Great beer selection.

Favorite Highlights: Family-Friendly, Kids love the pasta and arcade games, Large TVs for sports.

Tuscano’s is on our regular rotation for family nights. I can’t resist the Stacy Salad, and our kids adore the pasta options and the arcade games. It’s a great place for quality family time.

🍳 BREAKFAST/LUNCH at Cups (Palm Desert)

Must-Try: Chorizo Breakfast Wrap, Mexican Benedict, Grilled Shrimp Tacos, Marco’s Burger, Bloody Mary.

Favorite Highlights: Hidden gem with charming vibes, fun coffee cocktails, great food, great service, and our favorite Bloody Mary in the valley.

Cups is a popular local breakfast spot with a charming vibe. The chorizo wrap is my personal favorite, and their unique drink options add to the fun atmosphere.
